We've been dreaming of having a shack by the sea in the Pacific NW since 1992. The idea of a place to gather that's charming and unfussy initially began during childhood summers with grandparents and cousins at Bruce Beach on Lake Huron. That little summer cottage there is the backdrop of our family's memorable experiences since 1937.

Shack by the Sea (est. 2017) is about recreating those amazing moments when the screen door slams, waves provide background music for sunny afternoon naps, laughter echoes off the water, birds announce breathtaking sunrises, bonfires crackle, simple meals taste extra good, evenings are lit by the stars and stories carry us to and from the past.

We've always embraced hosting everywhere we live with the sentiment that creating memorable experiences is what we love to do.

This is Cooper.  And, he helps us take paws in our busy lives to see, hear and feel how special each day is.  We believe the family dog is an important part of special times together so we invite guests to bring their 'Cooper' with them on vacation.
